Principal's Message
Welcome to St Aloysius Catholic Primary School. My name is Miriam Leahy and I have been Principal at St Aloysius since 2022 and have been part of the St Aloysius staff since 2015. Our beautiful school in the Borough of Queenscliff is small, inclusive and community focused.
I am proud to be leading a school whose values are embedded in the values of Jesus. Encouraging my community to seek first to understand, not judge; to work towards forgiveness and repair, not revenge; to treat others the way you wish to be treated and to turn the other cheek are such important lessons for young minds and can truly be transformative for a community. Living these gospel values out through our everyday actions and words at school and having the support of my Parish Priest and staff on this journey has enriched my faith, but also helped to form the faith journey of others.
With a current enrollment of 101 students, we are able to keep our class sizes small and our teaching learning genuinely targeted to each child’s individual point of need. We have a very highly qualified staff of teachers who care in equal measure about the social and emotional well-being of students and their academic progress. This holistic approach has created a community culture of care for one another and high ambition for student learning outcomes.
We value the role of parents as partners in every step of the learning journey. Our parent community are well connected with teachers and classrooms through open classroom prayer every morning, parents helper opportunities, a range of digital communication tools and get to know each other through P & F and the School Advisory Board.
I invite you to experience our fabulous school through a tour with myself so you can see what a unique and vibrant community we have at St Aloysius.
